Howdy friends! Hope you are all having a great summer and for those of you in Jersey, I hope you are enjoying this weather (only a few small heat waves – totally tolerable). I’m back with an update on my 101 in 1001 challenge. Here goes:
#2 – Stop a soldier out in public and say thanks Back on June 30th, I was with my dear friend Chrissy walking around Washington Lake Park (and her adorable daughter Brielle was there too). As we were getting ready to leave, I saw a nice man dressed in his army fatigues. Unfortunately I didn’t get his name (as he was busy watching his son skateboard at the skate park), but I did take a minute to thank him for his service and keeping our country free!
#37 – Have one weekend a month for an entire year without any commitments So far this has been one of my favorite things on my list. Last weekend, we had a very low-key weekend, and decided at the last-minute to invite some friends over for a small BBQ. So far I’m 7/7 (woo woo!)
#78 Go See Mets/Rangers in Arlington June 2011 (and yes, I will be indulging in Garlic Fries) As many of you know, I’m a Mets fan. I also love, love, love to go to different baseball stadiums. I had been to Ranger Stadium back in 2007 when my bestie Val got married (I actually extended our stay for this because I’m nuts like that), but it’s nothing like seeing your favorite team at another stadium. Well, as sad as this sounds, I FAILED AND IT’S A TASK I CAN’T RECOVER FROM!!! Yes, I was saddened, but ironically, the bestie was here in Jersey on business, so we spent a few days doing the typical shenanigans that we always do (lots of laughing, drinking, cheesesteak eating and we even took a pole dance class – see picture below):
**Ok, so we really didn’t take the class, but yes, I’d be crazy enough to do it though**
#101 – Donate $1.00 for each task not completed well, here’s a picture of $1.00 in the envelope (marked by task # 78). Sucky, but I guess it was bound to happen!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I’ll be back soon to introduce my new kitchen, Marilyn (we’ve only been done for over a month – I’ve just been a little lazy with the blog). I’m thinking this might be a “toes in the water, ass in the sand” kind of weekend (or how ever that country song goes).
