It’s a Jersey Thing

Howdy Y’all (ok, so I still sound like I’m from Staten Long Island when I even try to speak Texan).  I’m back from my mini-vacation to Dallas/Ft. Worth to visit my BFF Val with my other BFF Megan.  As predicted it was a lot of madness and hilarity; nothing beats a girls weekend with these chicas.  Here’s the lowdown on the whole trip:

We did wine tastings (and a few extra bottles) at 4 different wineries (Delaney Vineyards, La Buena Vida Vineyards, D’Vine Wines, and Cowtown Winery).

We drank several margaritas

We took in the sights at the Ft. Worth Stockyards (I swear I have never seen so many cowboys in my life)

I rocked Val’s pink cowboy boots

Meg became a Texan with her souvenir purchases

Oh, and Val wearing a raccoon skinned hat (I think this should be dubbed as “Val, Queen of the Wild Frontier”)

Of course, this trip wouldn’t be complete without:

(1) chalking up all of our antics to “it’s a Jersey thing” and apologizing to Val’s hubby Dan

(2) me shouting “Hey, there’s the happily married woman” (our waiter from D’Vine Winery back in 2009) kind of loudly

(3) Meg reminding us that “It’s not an invitation Bitch” and that we were not to drink her wine, even IF she says “I don’t want any more”.  She also hand measured her glass so she knew how much was left

(4) Megan having this epiphany:  “Everything is bigger in Texas, except my liver.”

(5) We made complete idiots of ourselves (see pictures below)

The one thing that I was reminded of, is that no matter how long it’s been since we have seen each other, we always pick up where we left off.  I had a blast and these girls are awesome.  I am thankful that I have kept these girls as friends since grade/middle school. I guess it’s a Jersey thing!
